Who We Are

Riveer was founded in 1983 as a representative company helping small companies sell equipment to the federal government. We built the business selling industrial and military specific pressure washers, parts cleaners, custom wash equipment and difficult custom projects. After moving the company to Michigan in 1994, founder Matt Petter took on his younger brother Doug to help him transform the company into a manufacturing concern, able to respond to customer’s needs rather than merely bidding on existing requirements.

The first project the company took on was an Aircraft Cleaning and Deicing System (ACDS) for the Army. After successfully prototyping a system for the Army, Riveer was awarded a sole source contract for initial production quantities. Using the knowledge gained in building and successfully testing the ACDS we began promoting a less complicated wash rack based on ACDS technology to the commercial market. Our first patent application for an above ground wash pad was the result of our commercial success. Further significant contracts from the US Army have bee awarded for Aircraft Washing Systems that met the Army's immediate needs.

Over the years developing the ACDS with the Army, Riveer learned many valuable concepts that were translated to its commercial designs. The first and potentially most important to the wash rack world is the one "button" principal. A Master Sergeant told Riveer that new recruits assigned to washing equipment would not be receiving extensive training and therefore the equipment needed to be extremely easy to operate, intuitive. Riveer has incorporated this theory into all its designs. Whenever possible systems operate with one or even no buttons and user interface is kept to a minimum. Riveer has partnered with many filtration and fabrication companies over the years. We especially value those companies that are able to respond quickly and innovatively to our growing business. Having tried to work with companies that are less than responsive, endless voice mail loops and unreturned phone calls, we pride ourselves in being the kind of company we choose to work with; responsive, innovative, and trustworthy. We make it a point to always answer the phone, we make it a priority to take calls even when we're in meetings...you the customer are always more important than that meeting. Since introducing the Cyclonator in 1997 Riveer sales have grown at an annual rate of 36%. Our growth is all organic and internally financed. Our biggest market segment is existing customers, who make up 34% of our new equipment orders. Servicing our customers is not a "claim" rather it is a requirement of our continued success.

In 2000 we built a new office and assembly facility in South Haven, MI. In 2006 we doubled our production space and in 2007 we added additional engineering offices. Though we design, assemble and test all our equipment in-house, we continue to outsource fabrication functions and currently work with multiple specialty fabricators for stainless, pressure vessels, FRP, Engineered Materials, and mild steel.
